Today’s Featured Foodie is Mama B’s Spice Blends!
Whether you already love cooking with spices or you’ve never even tried, we think we’ve found something that’s going to spice things up in a big way.
Barbara Pinto lived in Montreal most of her life and enjoyed a wide variety of foods available there. The diversity was excellent. In 2009, she and her husband moved to PEI to enjoy the tranquil peace of the Island. With all those wonderful memories of the dishes back home, Barbara created an assortment of spice blends to add the worlds’ flavours to her dishes, and Mama B’s Spice Blends was born.
Today, Mama B’s Spice Blends offers 40 blends to choose from, as well as dip collections, soup mixes and special editions 5-packs including her Baker’s Edition, Christmas Edition and Battle of the Sexes Edition. Each blend is conveniently packaged and portioned and includes a recipe. You can’t go wrong!

One of our foodie favourite recipes using Momma’s B’s Seafood Spice Blend is Barbara’s husbands’ favourite chowder (and not because he has to like it). Living in Souris, near the fishing docks has allowed Barbara to develop her spice blends to complement the many wonderful products that Islanders harvest from the sea.
